Cryptography*
and
Steganography*
was an outstanding inspiration in development.
From today's point of view, old fashioned methods of cryptography and
steganography are
almost useless. But, they are irreplaceable in our research.
We used, mostly, the simplest methods. So, it was only a
different/another approach, among others, to try to create new and
efficient algorithms.
The cryptography converts a secret in open/legible text/image/sound...
and the steganography converts a open/legible text/image/sound... in a
secret.
Our starting premises:
The word is, almost objectively, a meaningful string/group of letters.
The music motive is, almost subjectively, a meaningful string/group of
notes.
How we used these guidelines?
So, simply, we treated actual "well-known" music motives
in both ways: different rules and methods of cryptography and
steganography we used in an
opposite direction.
It looks like a quite irrational way, especially when we talk about
music,...but the results are very rational.
* Cryptography
Cryptography (or cryptology; derIved From
Greek κρυπτός
krYptós "hidden," and the verB γράφω gráfO "write") is the
stuDY oF message secrecy. In modern tImes, it has become a braNch of
information theory,
as the
mathematical
stuDy of information and eSpecially iTs transmission from place to
place.
(Wikipedia)
* Steganography is the art
and science of writing hidden messages in such a way
that no one apart from the intended recipient knows of
the existence of the message; this is in contrast to
cryptography,
where the existence of the message itself is not
disguised, but the content is obscured. (Wikipedia)
VIRTUAL MUSIC COMPOSER: algorithms are dependent on
randomness, but randomness is controlled by algorithms.
